#BreakingNews: EPK Clashes Takes a Drastic Turn as Serious Injuries and Tea Burning Reported


This afternoon in Nandi Hills, one police officer has been cut in the arm and one protester shot in the stomach in a fierce confrontation during EPK and its workers’ demonstration. The two has been rushed to hospital.

Protesters demands full payment of the 30% salary increase. 15% has been paid and half has not been remitted after the court ruled couple of months ago.

Parts of Eastern Produce Kenya tea plantation has been set ablaze, about 60 acres.

Protesters are marching with 3 coffins with names of certain officials in the tea companies written on each.

Latest report records that one worker is dead and two seriously injured in clash.
